Thanksgiving invocation

At this Thanksgiving, let us ponder the words of Swiss philosopher Henri Frederic Amiel: “Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.”

May our acts as Rotarians demonstrate our gratitude for our blessings. For friendship, for health, for work, for opportunities to gather together, enjoy a meal, and change our community for the better.

  1. Shawn:
I have volunteered (more likely drafted) to give the invocation at our upcoming Rotary meeting on 11/9/2016. The meeting will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Rotary Foundation. I intend to use your Thanksgiving invocation as it is most appropriate for the month of November and for the topic of the day. Thank you very much.

  2. As it is Thanksgiving week, I used Shawn’s Thanksgiving invocation today at the Wooster Rotary Club noon meeting (Wooster, OH, District 6650). It was very-well received, thank you!
